Eastern Screech-owl

Lucifer

The red phase Eastern Screech-owl was hit by a car on October 24, 1995 and was found to have sustained a concussion and possible left elbow luxation. The luxation was never definitively diagnosed, and radiographs taken February 13, 1996 revealed a normal wing. Though no significant injury was ever identified, Lucifer was unable to fly and has remained with the Project participating frequently in educational presentations across the state. Lucifer’s current weight is 150g.
